How many rolls of wallpaper do I need?
Wallpaper is bought and hung in full-height strips cut from a fixed-length roll — so the real question isn't "how much area" but "how many strips, and how many usable strips per roll." Strips needed comes from your wall perimeter divided by the roll width; usable strips per roll comes from the roll length divided by your wall height plus any pattern-repeat allowance. A bigger pattern repeat means fewer strips per roll, even on an identical-sized room.
Measure the longest length and width of the room in metres, then multiply them to get the floor area.
Standard UK deductions: around 1.6m² for a door, 1.5m² for a window — subtracted from the total wall area.
