How many tiles do I need?
To work out how many tiles you need, divide your total area by the area of one tile, then add a wastage allowance for cuts, breakages and pattern-matching. Straightforward floors laid in a simple grid typically need around 5–10% extra; diagonal layouts, herringbone patterns, small mosaic tiles or rooms with lots of corners and cuts usually need 10–15% or more. Always round up to a whole tile (and a whole box) — you can't buy part of one.
Tiles cut to fit at the edges of a room can’t be reused — that’s why a 10% wastage allowance is standard.
