How this is calculated
Wall area comes from each room's perimeter × height, minus a standard allowance of 1.6m² per door and 1.5m² per window — the same real measurement a boarder would take on site. Ceiling area (if included) is simply length × width. The total is inflated by your chosen waste percentage, then divided by the board size and rounded up — you can't buy part of a sheet, so the final count always rounds up rather than down.
Standard UK plasterboard sheets (2400×1200mm being the most common) are planned across the wall — the calculator rounds up to whole sheets.
